About Our Practice
Pulane Optometrist opened its doors in 2007 at Emablenhle and since then we have continued to grow. We saw a gap in the region, especially in our townships and decided it will be good to take services to our people. We are a practice that speaks each and everyone's language, both literally and figuratively.
Our vision is to give the best eye care services to patients, while our mission is to help prevent the avoidable and preventable causes of blindness in our community. We provide various products to suit our patient's financial and lifestyle needs.

Comprehensive Eye Examinations
We provide a range of eye examinations. Having your eyes tested regularly can also result in early detection of a severe health risk. We aim to make clear and comfortable vision a reality for all our patients based on each patient's needs.
Visual Acuity Tests
This test is used to measure the sharpness and clarity of your vision. Testing both your near and distance vision using eye charts and different lenses we can determine how to improve your vision.
Company Wellness Days
On-site employee health screening services and health surveillance are often the first steps in many wellness programs. Based on particular occupations, these screenings are recommended to be conducted regularly.
Frame Selection and Assistance

Contact Lens Consultation
With an eye health assessment, we can determine if you should wear Contact Lenses. Once you have been cleared, you will be fitted, and the particular types of lenses will be discussed to decide the best option for your lifestyle.
Frame and Spectacle Adjustments and Repairs
From time to time, you may want your frames adjusted or repaired. Our skilled opticians can adjust the bridge, nose pads and temples to ensure the proper fit to your face.

Paediatric Optometry
Based on age, we can perform a number of different eye tests on young children. These tests include: colour vision, learning disorders related to vision, coordination, image perception, eye focus and eye muscle control.
Glaucoma Testing
Protect your vision from damage caused by glaucoma with regular complete eye tests. A Comprehensive Glaucoma Exam includes the testing of 5 factors before making a diagnosis.
Drivers Licence Screening
Save time at the Traffic Department and let us do your Drivers Licence Screening. You will need to bring a valid Identification Document (ID) along with you. Your screening will be done in cooperation with the National Department of Transport to ensure acceptance.
Skippers Licence Screening
Policy dictates that all candidates for the Skipper Coastal and Offshore ≥9m are required to pass the prescribes SAMS tests carried out a specific SAMSA offices. All other candidates attempting the examinations can provide an eye test certificate issued by us, a member of the South African Medical Association.
